
Andrew Terech holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Science in Research Psychology. Andrew’s clinical specialty is in the assessment and treatment of mood and stress related disorders such as depression, Bipolar, generalized anxiety, social anxiety and panic disorders. He also works with people who struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder, autism spectrum disorder, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders. He also has over 5 years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness in a crisis setting. This includes young adults experiencing first-break psychosis and adults with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective and delusional disorder.
Andrew was primarily trained in the Recovery-Focused Model to mental health treatment. He believes that recovery is possible for all people. This philosophy forms the foundation and underlying principles to Anderw’s approach to treatment. Through a process of self-acceptance, empowerment over one’s own story, and the development of tools that build resilience, he believes that any person can succeed in accomplishing their goals, find meaning and purpose in life, and reconnect with themselves and others.
Andrew Terech is clinically trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotional Schema Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), and the Gottman Method to couple’s therapy.
Andrew completed his internship in an outpatient clinic in Arizona where he worked with court-ordered domestic violence offenders and survivors. He ran Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups for adults and teenagers. He managed a caseload of child and adolescent clients who were in mandatory counseling under Arizona’s Department of Child Safety. He has experience providing mandatory and voluntary treatment for parents with substance-related disorders and challenges with anger management. Andrew also has experience with family, marriage and couples therapy and was supervised by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist using Attachment-Based Family Therapy and the Gottman Method to couple’s therapy.
