Casara Jean Ferretti, MS, MA, PhD Candidate

Casara Jean Ferretti is a PhD candidate in the Clinical Psychology PhD Program with Health Emphasis at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. She is currently a Pre-doctoral Clinician at Spectrum Neuroscience and Treatment Institute, and a Project Director and Instructor at the Autism and Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. Ms. Ferretti is clinically trained in CBT, and uses an integrative therapeutic approach in her clinical work, combining therapeutic tools from CBT, DBT, expressive therapies and other orientations to collaboratively treat children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Ferretti has also worked with children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and related disorders, in both clinical and research settings for the past 15 years. She is an established grant writer, and has multiple publications, book chapters and presentations on ASD and related fields, including as co-editor for the 2nd edition of 2nd Edition of APPI’s Textbook of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Ms. Ferretti is dedicated to providing integrative therapeutic care across the lifespan for individuals and families managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, and trauma, in addition to the intersection of mental health with familial, interpersonal, developmental, and environmental stressors. She is also focused on continuing her research in the ASD community to help recognize neurodivergent strengths and the importance of using a family systems approach in providing therapy to those with ASD. Ms. Ferretti advises children and families to recognize their strengths, and to accept where they are today, so that they can work on changing tomorrow.
