Social Skills facilitate interaction and communication with others. Our society has many social rules, and social relations are created, communicated, and changed in both verbal and nonverbal ways. The process of learning such skills is called socialization.
Many people have difficulties in social situations, including meeting new people, starting relationships, communicating in the workplace, interviewing and just day to day communication.
Social Strategies Therapy involves building on the individual’s current social skills using strategies that include learning to read nonverbal and verbal social cues, conversation starters and confidence building.
Both our psychologists and our psychiatrists are trained in providing Social Strategies Training.
