Kasey Siegel, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, and Autism using CBT, DBT, and Social Skills Training

Kasey Siegel is a clinical health psychologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of mental illnesses, which can affect quality of life and impair daily function (in areas such as work, school, and social relationships). Kasey has extensive experience implementing evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to treat anxiety and mood disorders among others. She is a graduate of the clinical health psychology program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and has a master’s degree in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kasey completed her yearlong pre-doctoral internship in June 2018 at Montefiore Medical Center, where she worked in various departments including the outpatient clinic, inpatient unit, consultation liaison addiction team, transplant surgery team, and the psychiatric emergency room. Kasey has also worked with individuals with autism in multiple settings, including a yearlong clinical externship at NYU Child Study Center’s Social Learning Program and a two-year clinical externship at Spectrum Services in Manhattan, NY. Kasey also spent one year working clinically with forensic inpatients at Bronx Psychiatric Center.

Kasey’s therapeutic approach involves learning about the unique life experiences of each individual and how they function and interact within the context of their surrounding environment and intimate relationships. The ultimate goal is to help an individual learn and acquire skills and insights that are applicable in their daily life. Kasey prioritizes creating a supportive, non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship, as she believes this is essential to success in therapy.

Kasey’s research involves exploring visual system processing deficits in multiple sclerosis through the use of visually evoked potentials, electroretinography, and neuropsychological assessment. She has presented her research at national and international psychology conferences and is a member of the American Psychological Association.
